Ladies Organizations Appreciated

Mitchell’s Memories
Ladies organizations are appreciated….
We must remember that our present church was built in the early 1930’s, right in the middle of The Great Depression. Many prayers and much work by members went along with the construction. Church dinners, serving 400 to 500 people, took place in our gymnasium to help raise money. The women did the preparing and cooking and the men did the set-up, serving and clean up. Oh, how I remember the roast beef, turkey and chicken dinners, along with the homemade biscuits and real mashed potatoes and gravy, followed by a variety of homemade pies – WOW!
The ladies organizations always have been a vital part of Martin Luther. We have had the Ladies Missionary Society, the Ladies Aid, the Quilters, the Circles and of course, the Sunday school teachers. It all helped toward the mortgage burning service of October 27, 1946.
Thanks be to God!
